A few months back I was having dinner at my friend Sonya’s house. We ended up in her craft room (as we always do) when I saw some silhouettes of her children. I knew right then what I wanted to do! I asked for her permission to scan and shrink… hence, her pendants. It is amazing to me how detailed silhouettes can be- even so small. I asked my dear friend Stephanie Edens (who has exquisite taste and a little free time) if she would be interested in making some for me as samples and to take orders from. She immediately loved the idea. So much, in fact, that she and I have united and started “Silhouette Sisters.” www.silhouetesisters.blogspot.com is a new blog that will be a combined effort to bring you lovely hand made silhouettes of your children, pets or even yourselves (thinking mommies-to-be).
These are an art form all in themselves.

It seems silhouettes have been around forever and yet, just recently, have really made a vast come back. I am so excited to be able to offer you one-of-a-kind hand made jewelry and I know that Steph is so excited to be able to offer silhouette prints, canvases and gifts. You will soon see new forms (not just soldered) of jewelry on both blogs and I hope you all will enjoy all that we have to offer on the creative table.
